It's because they have one of these. This is a telescoping basin wrench made of chrome plated steel with a sliding T handle and a swivel spring loaded locking jaw. Move the jaws to one side to loosen the old nuts and then to the other side to tighten the new ones. The wrench extends from 8" to 16" in 2" increments and locks at each increment. This tool is invaluable in many, many plumbing related jobs because of the confined spaces you have to work in.
